V3con is very excited that Ipo Pharr will be performing at the Opening Awards Reception presented by NBCUniversal on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at the Pacific Asia Museum.
So let’s get to know Ipo a little better…
What do you love about what you do?
I love that music can say exactly what I’m not brave enough to say. Sometimes, I can’t get my emotions across the way I want to, especially in the heat of a moment. Music allows me to be forward or frank and sometimes, a little mean. I love to be able to say something after the fact and get my last word in through a song.
What’s your favorite hangout in LA?
Honestly, I am a homebody but I really love going to shows at The Hotel Cafe. I don’t always have the time to go, but when I do it’s so intimate and beautiful there. I love the vibe and they always have amazing performers.
What tips can you offer V3 participants about networking?
What works for me when it comes to networking is to just be interactive with others. Networking is definitely essential to whatever business you are trying to share and communicating with others on a real and honest level is what I find captures people. I don’t just share music with my fans, I share a little piece of myself too. I love to feel like they aren’t just lovers of my music but a genuine friend who supports me.
