V3con is happy to highlight the First 10 People to Register for the conference on Aug. 24-25 in Los Angeles. First up is Betty Ming Liu, who has tried so many things it’s hard to know where to start. The self-professed recovering Chinese daughter describes her adventures on her blog BettyMingLiu.com and tells the tale of being a single working mom, professor, journalist, food fiend, artist and pet lady. And has plans for a publishing impringLet’s get to know her better:
How did you hear about V3con?
Read about it on Disgrasian and Gil Asakawa’s blog.
What are your expectations for the conference?
Get inspired, make contacts, develop a support network. Sometimes I get lonely here on the East Coast.
Who do you hope to meet?
Everyone — all the rock stars.
What tips do you have for effective networking?
Tip #1: To calm the nerves, breathe deep, exhale and then have fun mingling. Tip #2: Use Google alerts to keep on top of news related to specific issues and people.
Which bloggers, online journalists and social media communicators do you follow?
Would you recommend the conference to friends and others in your network?
Of course. :)
