We send our condolences to blogger Lynn Chen, whose father, Fu-Yen, passed away on Sunday, August 12. Lynn had been scheduled as a V3con panelist for the “Asian Spotting in the Traditional Media” plenary. Although she will no longer be speaking on the panel, she will continue to blog about her father’s passing and how she is coping with it. She has already written a poignant post about her father and draws a beautiful connection between him and her reasons for continuing to blog. Lynn serves as an inspiration to all, even in her most difficult hour. If you haven’t already, you can read about it here on her blog, http://theactorsdiet.com
Fu-Yen Chen was the founding president of the Kunqu Society, a Chinese opera company, from 1988 to 1996. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation in his name, please send it to the Kunqu Society, c/o Anna Wu, 199-36 24th Avenue, Whitestone, NY 11357.
We will also be sending Lynn a sympathy card after the conference. If you would like to sign it, please click here: http://groupcard.com/c/
