First 10: A Moment With Eric Ignacio

V3con is happy to highlight the First 10 People to Register for the conference on Aug. 24-25 in Los Angeles. Among that hallowed group is Eric Ignacio. This accomplished video editor refers to himself simply as a Pinoy production guy navigating his way through the world of entertainment.  Let’s get to know him better:

How did you hear about V3con?
I first heard about V3con through Joz Wang’s facebook posts and thought the early registration price was a steal! I attended the Banana 2 Conference last year, but I was working as a cameraman. While shooting, I really felt the cool vibe of the crowd. It was a lot of fun. I actually learned a lot of things from doing that job. haha!

What are your expectations for the conference?
Last year, I saw that some of the attendees we’re just as fascinating as some of the panelists. I sort of expect to be around people who who want to learn from each other.

Who do you hope to meet?
Just a lot of good folks who want to share ideas and experiences.

What tips do you have for effective networking?
Hmm…I guess be yourself and just have fun meeting people who share the same passions as you.

Which bloggers, online journalists and social media communicators do you follow?
Wow, too many, but I guess my top three would be: AngryAsianMan, Hyphen Magazine, and Jeff Yang.

Would you recommend the conference to friends and others in your network?
Yes. If they’re passionate about Asian American issues and representation in the media, then this should be a really cool experience
