V3con is happy to highlight the First 10 People to Register for the conference on Aug. 24-25 in Los Angeles. Among that hallowed group is Patrick Epino. He is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker and co-founder of the National Film Society, a new media studio and PBS web series. He was selected by the film magazine, The Independent, as one of its “10 Filmmakers to Watch” for his first feature film, Mr. Sadman. Let’s get to know him better:
How did you hear about V3con?
I’d known about the conference under the old name, but Joz and Phil Yu were the ones who told me about the name change this year and reminded me to shake a leg and register.
What are your expectations for the conference?
Meet some cool folks. Learn some things. Remember half of it..
Who do you hope to meet?
People who will blow my mind.
What tips do you have for effective networking?
Do your homework. Listen. Be nice.
Which bloggers, online journalists and social media communicators do you follow?
A bunch but off the top of my head, Phil Yu, Joz, 8Asians, Disgrasian.
Would you recommend the conference to friends and others in your network?
